Sangeeta Abhay
Living close to Ajanta shaped my artistic soul. Buddha’s life, his calm simplicity, and the Bodhi tree became my inspiration. In every brushstroke, I try to echo his peace. Gold, for me, holds the quiet radiance of that time - an offering to keep his message alive in color and form.

Sangeeta Abhay’s artistic journey began in Buldana, near the ancient Ajanta Caves - an environment where beauty, culture, and history shaped her long before she found her own voice. A gold medallist from the Government School of Art, Aurangabad, she built a strong academic foundation before spending fourteen years in advertising. Yet beneath the pace of city life, a quiet pull toward stillness and the teachings of the Buddha persisted until it became her artistic truth. Rooted in this calling, Sangeeta’s work orbits themes of transformation and inner calm. The Buddha remains her central muse, accompanied by symbolic presences like the Bodhi Tree, the Earth Witness, and the divine feminine. Her style blends classical Indian sensibilities with contemporary refinement - luminous faces, meditative gestures, and textured surfaces that invite viewers into a space of reflection. Through painting and sculpture, Sangeeta creates art that feels both intimate and timeless. Her work has been acknowledged by figures such as the Dalai Lama, Gulzar, Shyam Benegal, and Dr. Pushpa Dravid, marking her as a significant voice in contemporary spiritual art.
