He was awarded the AIFACS Painting Award, New Delhi in 2010; The Art Society of India, Mumbai in 2009 and The Bombay Art Society, Mumbai, also in 2009. Das’s style is majorly figurative and he uses lots of reds in his paintings which evokes the sense of power. The bulls are striking, colorful, playful and full of life with varied expressions and avatars. The movement he gives his bulls is graceful, treating the canvas like a theatre and bulls as the actors. His work captures the essence of village life through cattle that don’t just exist, but pulsate with energy. He has his unique style of portraying this magnificent animal that is so rooted in the Indian culture and psyche. Das has had five solo shows of his works at Jehangir Art Gallery, Suchitra Art Gallery, Art Entrance, Bajaj Art Gallery, and Nehru Centre, Mumbai, as well as several group shows
