About Walter D'souza
Born in 1957 Walter Emilio Dsouza received a Master’s in Printmaking from the faculty of Fine Arts, M S University, Vadodara in 1983. The following year he set up the print studio for Kanoria Centre for Arts in Ahmedabad, India.
He has been the Commissioner of the 4th Bharat Bhavan International Biennial of Prints Bhopal in 1997. An exhibition titled ‘Printmaking as we know it today’ took place at Lemongrass hopper in 2007, it was Walter to introduce the Print as a medium to the 6th city of Ahmedabad.
Dsouza has conducted a number of workshops across the country and has been a Visiting Fellow at the Department of Printmaking, Kala Bhavan, Santiniketan. He has participated in numerous exhibitions. He has collaborated extensively with architects, this has helped him take 'Art' into public spaces in varied materials.
He lives and works out of Aldona and Ahmedabad, India.
