Sculpture art introduced three-dimensional artwork by shaping materials; the could be using carving, modeling, welding or moulding using stone, wood, ceramics, or metal. While the erstwhile sculptures date back to a time when it was mostly in the context of religion and commemoration, the contemporary sculptures are seeing popularity in both public spaces and private homes too. Sculptures are known to add a touch of elegance to any space that welcomes them. The movements seen in contemporary sculpture range across geometric abstraction, cubism, surrealism, pop art and installation art among others. Contemporary artists like Subrata Paul and Romicon Revola have been experimenting with mediums of wood and metal to create stunning sculptures. Artists who have been traditionally painting on canvas have also started experimenting with three-dimensional media to add freshness to their expression.
