About Suresh Pushpangathan
Suresh Pushpangathan, a nature devotee and skilled artist, orchestrates a harmonious dance of light and color in his evocative canvases. Graduating from the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, Bangalore, in 2002 and earning a Master’s degree in Art & Design from the University of Bedfordshire in 2011, Pushpangathan's artistic journey is deeply rooted in his childhood experiences amidst the lush tropical landscapes of Varkala, Kerala. Son of a traditional sculptor, he intricately weaves memories of whittling wood and wandering through serene lily ponds into his work. The disappearing flora and fauna serve as poignant motifs, inviting viewers to the brink of ponds or across leafy expanses, where aquatic fauna thrives amid rich textures and vivid colors. Pushpangathan's art, resonating with influences from Impressionism and Post-Impressionism, navigates a nuanced path between representation and abstraction, emphasizing the symbiosis of palette and subject matter in conveying emotions.
