My abstractions draw from nature, temple textures, ancient murals, and shifting landscapes. Rooted in Madras’s vibrant colors and classical culture, they weave memory and rhythm. Even notes of music turn into hues and dots, creating a visual language of layered experience and resonance.

Trained in Art with a Master’s degree in Psychology, Gita’s works have been part of many exhibitions since early 90’s. She has more than 20 solo and 50 group exhibitions to her credit. Trained in Art with a Master’s degree in Psychology, Gita’s works have been part of many exhibitions since early 90’s. She has more than 20 solo and 50 group exhibitions to her credit. Her international shows were in London, South Africa, Washington DC, South Korea. As an independent curator, she has curated for The Raza Foundation, The INKO Centre, Peyoung Chang Art - Korea, Whitefield Art Collective- Bangalore, VR Chennai. An Arts documentarist, she regards film-making as an extension of fine arts, which is also their subject matter. Since 2005 she has documented over 25 contemporary artists including Yusuf Arakkal, Alphonso Doss, C.Douglas, Achuthan Kudallur and many Masters of the 'Madras Art Movement’.
