Black and White Drawings

Some of the most evocative pieces of art were created by using the humble black and white, colors on the opposite end of the spectrum coming together to create intricate and visceral paintings and drawings. Black and white drawings can be used to create contrast and to show the subject more clearly. Light and dark areas in a drawing create a visually pleasing effect. This makes it easy to clearly see details in the drawing, such as facial expressions. Using black and white helps to create a moodier and dramatic feel to the art. While initially, this form was mainly a tool for artists to sketch and study their subjects it has also been extensively used to create finished pieces of art that offer artists the opportunity to work without the constraints of colors and experiment more.
