Siddharth Shingade

My paintings render comprehensive history through tall and stylized figures on the canvas. I attempt to create a concoction of history and idiosyncratic experiences to demonstrate millions of stories by making use of a paintbrush on an empty canvas. These paintings narrate the stories of my native land and its people. I deliberately use tones of browns and yellows to create an association with my land and its people, as well as maintaining a subdued tone reflecting the hardships faced by my community.

Siddharth Shingade is a Maharashtra based artist who has acquired an Art Teacher Diploma in the year 2000, then another Diploma in Painting from L S Raheja School of Art, Mumbai and subsequently, obtained a Diploma in Art Education from Sir J J School of Art, Mumbai. His art is very contemporary and he uses sublime earthy colours for most of his works that talk about his affinity towards the soil and people of his homeland, Marathwada.
