Year of making
Ever since millions of us around the globe went into lockdown our world has become a little more smaller, we are confined to the view encircling us. In such times if there is one thing that can never be ‘contained’ is the ‘creativity’. I am in my hometown, the nostalgia of the olden days and the agony around me, stimulates me to observe and absorb the happenings around and pour them into my paintings. The main aim of artistic creativity is to transform sorrow into beauty, truth and hope. I am finding solace in my paintings, the empty fields with lonely plough, isolated livestock, deserted playgrounds, vacant neighbourhood , void well sides, abandoned chowpaals , all yearning to get back to work. My paintings reflect the irony of the lockdown in my village , which apparently rebounds the present scenario of the world , the countries equally distressed and fighting together, a ‘global village’ in true sense. The simplification of form, use of gloomy and subdued splashes of colours, repetition of figures, distortion of perspective and anatomy, reduction of literal meaning to symbolic reality, the scrawls of markers and charcoal are the essentials of my work in these frozen and still days. At a first glance my paintings may look frivolous and child – like but hidden behind these innocent and light-hearted images are profound statements about harsh realities of today’s life. They are allusions to deeper issues of keeping patience in pain, not losing hope, and coping with grief in such chaotic and uncertain times.
Showcasing the unique style of an artist in the form of a reproduction comes with a huge responsibility. And we take that seriously. Each reproduction is a museum quality giclée print on high quality canvas that captures the original work in all its essence.
The combination of pure cotton canvas, use of original dye inks that leave an indelible print and a fine finish of lacquer for longevity makes our signature reproductions irresistible for empty walls.
We have a few tips to take good care of your favourite art on the walls -
- Make sure that there are no leakages from the roof or sprinklers that set off without any warning in your living room.
- Show some love for your art and mildly dust it at least once a week. We recommend you use a dry soft cloth/ soft bristled brush to clear the dust. If necessary, follow-it up with a very light moist cloth to mildly clean the surface of the work.
- We would love to have your child appreciate art and be inspired to be an artist too. But please don't encourage them to indulge in doodling on the work. :)
