A Vision of Poise - Works of Varsha and Ramchandra Kharatmal

Ramchandra Kharatmal's art is inspired by the traditional craft of "Godhadi" quilting and pays homage to the hardworking tribal women in village fields. Varsha Kharatmal, born into a family of artists, finds freedom in art, expressing the sensuous beauty of Maharashtrian women through Indian miniatures. With a discerning eye, Ramchandra Kharatmal skillfully captures the eternal essence of femininity, enduring poise and grace that transcends time, drawing inspiration from the iconic sculptures of Ajanta. Varsha Kharatmal's women are seen in the statement ‘nauvari’, the 9-yard long regal sarees, embodying elegance and subtle poise. Their eyes speak volumes and their simplicity is part of their identity.
