I intend to illustrate my life journey through elaborate paintings on white canvas. I draw inspiration from my motherland West Bengal and also, its rich culture, traditions and people. My paintings will also reflect my fondness for the folk art of Bengal. Since my childhood, I have always hoped for inner glory, freedom and deliverance and it seems painting my deep hidden emotions and life journey have developed a space in my heart and painting on the canvas is a close substitute to all these.
Nityam Singha Roy is a self-taught artist born in West Bengal who comes from a humble background. As a child Singha faced many hardships which lead to the growth of an artist inside him. His paintings began to act as a language in which he could express his fantasies and desires. He is greatly in awe of the two very famous artists, Paul Klee and Van Gogh and so, hints of their work might pop in his art. His knack for art has been presented at various group and solo shows at home and abroad. One of his most notable exhibition was held at Edinburgh Art Fair, 2015 in U.K.
