I feel the pulse of the environment wherever I go. And my endeavour is to capture the unique identity of every place I visit through the medium of my paintings.

One of the top 50 watercolourists of India, Punekar Hiremath Kudalayya holds mastery over the medium that is evident in his portraits, landscapes, and suggestive abstracts that leap off the paper. A plein-air enthusiast, frequent travel is what provides him inspiration and subjects; ranging from the ghats of Ganga, the grand temples of Hampi to the lanes of Nepal subdued in Himalayan mist. He effortlessly captures the atmosphere, essence, and identity of every place he is enchanted by with subtle flows and gestural brushstrokes. Hiremath constantly pushes his boundaries as an artist with his paintings carrying a meditative quality and the compositions a perfect balance of luminous colours and energy.
