About Athira K.V
Athira channels her introverted personality into representing her own experiences and feelings through the imagery of Pangolin, a one-of-a-kind introverted animal and also red-listed as IUCN. She observes that species of pangolin have been attacked and killed by man for its scales to manufacture cosmetics treatment and products; sheer victims of our fashion chaos. An introvert, she recognizes in her the free and friendly, the worrying and uncomfortable self. Anticipating dreaded emotions, she realizes the reason for fear and anxiety domination. And through her work, she challenges society's need to normalize extroverts as a way to be in fear of social judgment. With her work represented through the imager of the introverted Pangolin, she urges us to value a person for his creativity and personality and not the beauty or privilege.
