Mukund's work is mainly concerned with formalistic representation of nature. His main preoccupation is with the surface of the canvas, thus he concentrates on technique and skill. Being a Piscean, he mainly paints forms resembling fishes. It is a way of including a 'self' in the painting. He also does woodcut prints.
In the recent times he is trying his hand at new techniques. Fish was a constant feature in his earlier but now he has slowly started experimenting with different forms like those of birds and geometric forms.
