Artflute review

|
The cityscape at
night, with crescent moon at right edge top, in a stippled sky looks
beautiful, Read it, hauntingly beautiful! The vertical geometrical
forms agglomerate to form city's skyscraper, an abode for inhabitation
of urban dwellers. It depicts, human’s quest with their ecosystem, for
its supremacy. The artist has neither given any sign of life i.e.
plants, birds, animals or human other than such skyscrapers nor the
city's tungsten light for which it is known. Even the angle at which,
it is framed gives one an alienated feeling. The monotony of icy white
with blue prevails all over. It makes one feel cold and aloof, as it
hits hard to one's perceptions. On conceptual level, this seems
philosophical. Add to it, quote of Desmond Morris,” The city is not a
concrete jungle, it is a human zoo”.
