In this mélange of white, red and brown, the
colors swirl, overlap, mix and move with gusto. This claustrophobic space is
inhabited by a ghost like figure with his stretched, curled palm. It is similar
to the popular genre of fantasy painting. From the horizon, a couple of eyes, gaze
directly into the viewer. It makes one feel unease, as if it will take away
one’s soul merely by its glance. The magic, the drama and the very space have
overtones of Gothic Art. Its confirmed by the presence of a pair of Gothic
windows at the horizon, which also relieves the obstructed space. It recalls
the mysticism and superstitious beliefs, and aptly titled as- “Soul,” it
enlivens the fire.
